Candy with ginger and turmeric

Sweet and spicy, this candy is impossible to eat in one sitting.

Ingredients

  • Grated ginger: 1 small cup
  • Grated raw turmeric: ½ of small cup
  • Jaggery powder: 1 medium cup
  • Black peppercorns (crushed): 2-3 tablespoons
  • Crushed cloves: 1 teaspoon
  • Black salt: 2 teaspoons
  • Butter paper or silicone mould

Recipe

  • In a non-stick pan, add the jaggery and simmer over low heat for three to five minutes to melt it.
  • Together with the other ingredients, such as crushed black peppercorns, cloves, and salt, add the grated ginger and turmeric. Stir thoroughly.
  • Cook until the corners are coming off the pan and the jaggery mixture has thickened. Taste it; it should be sweet and spicy.
  • After pouring the mixture onto silicone mold or butter paper, let it cool.
  • After cutting into little cubes, transfer to an airtight container. Keep chilled and savor it.

Ingredients

  • Tamarind pulp: 100gm
  • Jaggery powder: 300gm
  • Rock salt: To taste
  • Black pepper powder: 2 teaspoons
  • Butter paper or silicone mould

Recipe

  • Remove any branches from the tamarind pulp and deseed it. Small amounts of water are added to create a smooth, thick paste.
  • Add the jaggery powder and simmer over low heat for two to three minutes in a nonstick pan.
  • Add the rock salt, black pepper powder, and tamarind pulp. Mix thoroughly.
  • The mixture should thicken and start to separate from the pan after cooking.
  • After pouring onto a silicone mold or butter paper, allow it to cool. Slice into cubes, transfer to an airtight container, and savor.

Ingredients

  • Mixed seeds: 200gm
  • Mixed dry fruits: 250gm
  • Peanuts: 100gm
  • Jaggery powder: 500gm
  • Black salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Butter paper or silicone mould

Recipe

  • After removing the skin, dry roast the peanuts.
  • Cut the dry fruits into rough pieces.
  • Cook the jaggery in a nonstick pan over a flowing heat for three to four minutes.
  • Stir in the peanuts, chopped dry fruits, and mixed nuts.
  • Mix thoroughly after adding the salt. Cook until the mixture thickens and the pan’s corners start to come away.
  • Over a silicone mold or butter paper, pour. Permit the mixture to cool. Slice into cubes or bars and savor.

NOTE:

  1. Additionally, you can add creative shapes to the candy by using cookie cutters.
  2. After pouring the mixture onto butter paper to create your own candy pops, you can add straws.
